This course will suit anyone who already has a basic understanding and experience of the counselling process and is looking to extend their knowledge and experience of working in the interesting, demanding and fascinating world of couple counselling. It will build not only on your counselling knowledge in general but also on the practical and theoretical aspects of working with the couple dynamic.
This extensive course is structured over seven days and is an accredited course. The core four days will help you to understand the unique aspects of working with couples and what help you may give them in relation to understanding the issues and problems they may be facing. Giving you all the basic requirements of couple work including couple dynamics, therapeutic bonding, holding the balance, attachment and systemic theory, scripts and messages, couple fit, relationship styles, diversity and blended families, immediacy, perception and reality, communication, reflective practice, argument resolving and lots of tools to help you to help the couple to have a happy life.
It also includes how domestic violence can be identified and worked with safely in a couple contract.
The course is being run in Manchester, Sheffield and Lincoln.
Sheffield dates
