Yvonne Fitzpatrick-Grimes BA (Hons) Dip. MBACP.
Hello, I'm Yvonne, an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a solid academic background in Psychotherapy. I've been around the block a few times so I don't make promises. But I will help you make informed choices about what you want to achieve, in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment in a way that honours who you are, and what you have to offer. My private practice is my home in Weybridge which I believe is better suited to your comfort and mine. I live just off the High St.
I also see clients at Sam Beare hospice in Weybridge.
Have variously been described as intuitive, warm, fearless and funny. Accompanying people on journeys of stress, depression, relationship issues, recovery from stroke, confusion, palliative care, end of life, grief and sexual abuse,to name but a few, has taught me more than I ever learned at University.
Humanistic Therapy augmented by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
VALUES and COMMITMENT:
I believe values and commitment speed up the process of Therapy, they help to reduce anxiety, stress and self-limiting beliefs. They induce self-awareness, calmness, and help identify the source and solution to difficult emotions.
Whether we meet or not, let me offer you my warmest wishes. Yvonne

To me there is something about accepting our human emotions, not necessarily liking or wanting them but being aware and making room for them and being conscious of how we engage and use them. Finally self-compassion adds an extra element to acceptance.
