About me

I am a BPC registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with over fifteen year’s experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and in various settings, privately and within the NHS.

I have worked extensively with people going through crisis and significant life changes, and have a special interest and expertise in working with issues of identity and culture, immigration and relocation, masculinity and starting a family.

People often come to see me when they are struggling with their mood, low self-esteem, anger, loneliness, anxiety and stress, or if they are having difficulties in relationships, in their career, with sexuality or addiction. You might be troubled by earlier experiences,  feeling stuck, or repeating familiar patterns or you might have a need to think about your life more broadly and try to make sense of things.

In a psychodynamic approach I aim to help you think about unconscious thoughts and feelings, early experiences and relationships. I will offer you a safe space to talk about whatever’s troubling you, even if you’re not sure what that is exactly, and am committed to helping you challenge the things in your life that aren’t working for you.

I believe that therapy helps us to become who we genuinely are. Talking things through with a professional can help us become more aware of ourselves and the patterns we fall into, our fears and desires. This can help us to understand ourselves at a deeper level, to find more freedom in our lives, to grow and to flourish.

HOW I WORK:
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is typically open-ended, although I offer time-limited therapy for specific issues in some cases. Sessions are 50 minutes long, unstructured and open, and you are invited to talk about whatever you’d like on the day.

We will usually need one or two initial consultations to discuss what’s troubling you, what would be helpful and whether I am the right therapist for you. These sessions are sometimes slightly longer and may be charged differently.

I work with adults of all ages, and older adolescents, in English and in Hebrew.

I also offer clinical supervision for clinicians from different backgrounds.

My practice is based in Walthamstow a short walking distance from Victoria Line and London Overground stations. I am part of Walthamstow Therapy and work from there part of the week.  I am currently working in person but can offer online sessions in some cases.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a psychotherapist and group-work practitioner with over 15 years experience, trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, and at the Institute of Group Analysis, London.

I hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Tel-Aviv University, where I have also trained in psychotherapy and group facilitation. I currently see individual patients and groups in the NHS and in private practice.

I am experienced in providing both long and short term treatment for adults of all ages, in individual settings and in groups, and have worked with patients from diverse backgrounds in various organisations and institutions.

I am a registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with The British Psychoanalytic Council (registration number: 22120) and adhere to its code of ethics. I am a member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and a registered psychologist with the Israeli Ministry of Health (license no. 27-122497). You can also find me on Walthamstow Therapy and Psychology Today.

British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
