At times everyone feels stressed, worried or unhappy. It can be a great relief to share those feelings, in confidence, with someone who is trained to listen and help you find a way to cope.
At YMCA Southampton Counselling you will not be judged or criticised. you will receive professional counselling of the highest standard, helping you to move forward.
We have been operating for over 30 years and are now part of the YMCA Fairthorne Group. We provide affordable counselling to adults in Southampton and surrounding areas.
Our overriding aim is to offer a safe place to talk and an opportunity to make a positive change.
You can refer yourself to our service. Your GP, or another health professional, may also recommend that you contact us.
Training, qualifications & experience
YMCA Southampton Counselling is accredited by BPC and a full member of BACP. We are a not-for-profit organisation, set up as a charity more than 30 years ago. Since then we have been providing affordable counselling to people in Southampton and surrounding areas.
Our volunteer counsellors are trained to Diploma level or above and are in weekly supervison for their client work. Many of our counsellors are BACP accredited.

Initial Consultation Session: £45
Weekly Sessions: £40
As a charity we do not make a profit, after covering the cost of running the service all our funds are used to subsidise the counselling for those who couldn't otherwise afford it.
We endeavour to make our counselling affordable for the majority of potential clients and we can offer reduced rates to people in need and on low incomes.
