I am a psychotherapist with over 10 years experience and qualifications including a MSc, a Postgraduate Diploma and a Certificate in Relationship and Marital Therapy, Psychosexual Therapy and Individual Counselling and am also an accredited Life Coach. I draw from psychodynamic, behavioural and humanistic types of therapy and coaching and I can work with you either on a long tem basis or time limited depending on your needs and circumstances.
My main therapeutic focus is on relationship problems regardless of where these are experienced and you can attend either as an individual or as a couple. Most of us experience relationship problems at some point in our life and I am used to working with a wide range of different problems and understand that most relationships can be difficult at times. These can be relationships with a partner, at work, with family, friends or in other situations.
Individuals often come to me because they would like to break a certain pattern of relating, get over a relationship, change the type of partner they attract or want to end a relationship. Sometimes people come because they struggle with self-esteem, depression, abuse, anxiety, stress or other problems, which affects how they feel about themselves and their lives. I will see you regardless of your sexual orientation and also have experience of working with those who feel confused about their sexuality.
Couples may seek help when they encounter a problem, which affects the quality of the relationship or how they feel about each other. A couple might come when going through a significant change or transition in the relationship. This transition can be getting married, becoming parents, struggling to conceive, dealing with infidelity, drug an alcohol abuse, career changes, entering into retirement and other matters. I have experience of working with same sex couples and will see you regardless of your sexual orientation or if you are in a same sex relationship. Working with an experienced therapist can help couple gain insight and understanding into their issues, how these have arisen and find a joint way to deal with them.
I also work with individuals and couples who experience sexual problems.
My coaching practice focuses on career transition and improving your professional life and relationships at work. Together we explore what you really want to achieve in your career and how to get there.
The sessions are tailor-made to suit the particular situation of each individual or couple and I draw from all my previous training and experience when working together. I work in time limited and open ended therapy face to face, on Skype or over telephone. I tend to offer regular weekly sessions, but also work flexibly to allow for busy life styles. Face to face sessions are in Islington, London N1.
