I am a qualified Online Counselling and CBT therapist. Online Counselling can offer you flexibility when face to face sessions are not suitable, the written word in a therapeutic medium that has been proven to be a powerful tool in assisting self change.

I am qualified in Mindfulness and Bereavement and Loss. I am constantly building my knowledge and am an active member of the BABCP & BACP, attending many CPD learning events per year in order to keep up to date with specific approaches to therapy and of course to learn new skills which become very helpful in therapy in order to offer YOU the best therapy, tailor made for YOU, to suit YOUR needs.

During my work in the public sector I wrote, developed, delivered and facilitated several therapeutic and psycho educational groups on addictions, bereavement and loss, general anxiety disorder and low mood/depression. I continually develop this work and will be offering a variety of therapeutic groups in the near future.

My background prior to qualifying as a CBT Therapist is in Psychology where I worked in residential children's units, secure units for teenagers and supported accommodation for adults with learning difficulties and behavioural issues. Since then I have focussed on adult mental health issues such as Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorders, Panic disorder, Depression, Relationship issues, Family issues, Low self esteem, Confidence issues, Phobias, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), self harm, addictions and bereavement.

I am passionate about working with my clients in order for them to understand and overcome life's issues, get back on track, re-claim their focus, self esteem and confidence whist managing and overcoming a variety of mental health issues.

We live in such a fast pace modern society, with so many expectations in work and our personal lives that are sometimes stressful and even unachievable, this itself can lead to feelings of sadness, loneliness, inadequacy, low self esteem and confidence issues. Anxiety is now present in most peoples lives and can sometimes be crippling and begin to effect the other parts in our lives such as relationships and work performance.

My aim is always to use a practical approach to your issues whist we explore and understand the reasons for these and then create plans to work towards your more desirable goals, facilitating YOUR effective and positive changes that will allow YOU to fully reach your potential, regain control and find the balance that YOU want. Within this approach the reduction of anxiety and depression can be achieved and self esteem and confidence raised.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
