About me

With over 25 years of Counselling experience, as well as Lecturing and Training in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Health and Social Care and Health Psychology, I believe everyone, young and older should be able to resource counselling for whatever issue they may have.

If you are looking for a comfortable, confidential, safe and secure place where you can share your thoughts and feelings, then look no further.

I work within the integrated approach; this means that the therapist takes the most effective elements of several counselling approaches and models and with your assistance, the therapist will work with you and these approaches to reach the outcome you require.

I feel all Counselling should be within an environment that is peaceful and relaxed; somewhere you can be listened to, be understood, not judged, and somewhere where confidentiality will be adhered to. I believe all counselling should demonstrate this by putting the individual first by demonstrating, Respect, Non-judgmental and Acceptance.

Allow me to help YOU make sense of YOUR world. Therapy is a two-way process where both listener and talker interact with each other, within a relaxed environment.

You won’t be doing all this alone; I will be with you throughout each session helping you find your way. Your therapy will be at your pace and level of understanding within your time frame.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
