I am an experienced Psychologist specialising in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Counselling Psychologists use a number of different therapeutic approaches depending on what suits a particular client. Psychologists are trained to interpret and apply the results of research and can address problems of a psychological nature through the use of Psychotherapy. Psychotherapy involves an interaction between the client and counsellor which usually involves a talking therapy such as psychodynamic or cognitive behaviour therapy. Sometimes it can make use of other mediums of communication such as drawing or play therapy, depending on what the client needs and feels comfortable with.
The first session I offer will be an assessment session where you can explain your problems and I will take a case history and discuss with you how the work might proceed. This process is collaborative. I will listen to what you feel comfortable with and encourage your views on how we may begin the work. My outlook is flexible and I review the way of working to see how you feel about your problems as we continue the therapy together.
I work at a private clinic in Weybridge which has a quiet waiting room and overlooks the village green. Parking is available close by at a number of pay and display sites.
