Waheeda Janmohamed MBACP - ear4ucounsellor
Hi, thanks for clicking on my profile. I'm Waheeda and I am ear4ucounsellor. I offer a talking therapy service mainly in the Wakefield area. I am Professional and the service is Confidential and Affordable.
I have been passionate about humanitarian causes since an early age so in 1995 I started my own journey to find a way where I could work directly with people on a one to one basis and completed a certificate in Counselling skills. I have worked in the voluntary sector since 2002 supporting Sure Start, Homestart, The STAR Project and the Well Women Centre.
The approach I use is non directive and the process helps the client to think about their feelings, understand their thoughts and take responsibility for their actions, which in turn can lead to personal growth.
Counselling is not a quick fix solution and takes time, patience, commitment and the willingness to talk openly and I can provide a safe environment for you to do that in.
My part in the relationship is not to tell you what to do or give you advice on the decisions YOU need to make nor can I fix you or mend you but I am here to work with you without judgement and explore the issues you are struggling with to make your journey through life manageable whether that be short, medium or long term therapy.
During the session, we can use arts and crafts, toys and inanimate objects to try and explain how you feel when words don't come easy. There may be times where I can guide you through Mindfulness techniques and help you to manage any symptoms of trauma that you may be experiencing during the therapy, only should you need it!
I offer a FREE 15 minute telephone consultation at the time of call or a FREE 15 minute Skype consultation can be arranged via email. A 30 minute face to face consultation can be arranged at the cost of £10 for securing a room. During the initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions you might have about Counselling and I can tell you how I work and how I can work with you.
Please be advised that this is a confidential service unless you lead me to believe you are a danger to yourself or others in which case I would have to contact the appropriate authority, organisation or service to ensure the safety of all parties concerned. Certain aspects of cases may be discussed during supervision but no names are mentioned. This is to review my work with clients and help with personal development.
