About me

I am self-employed, working in private practice as a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist in Cardiff as well as part time for Merthyr & The Valleys Mind as an Active Monitoring Practitioner. Making a difference to the lives of others is important to me. I am warm, caring and compassionate, and genuinely enjoy supporting others. I am an articulate communicator and listener who is able to relate to people from a variety of different backgrounds. My journey into Counselling & Psychotherapy has been both fascinating and challenging, involving some deep soul searching and personal growth. I am passionate about the benefits of therapy and have been a client myself at numerous times throughout my adult life.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist. For those unfamiliar with the jargon, this simply means that I am able to work from a number of different theoretical frameworks and adapt my skills and training to the needs of each individual and unique client. I have worked with clients both short and long term and am available for as long as you need an empathic space to 'be'. My approach is collaborative; working with you to make changes to your current life or work through past pain. I passionately believe that we are all capable of living life to the fullest, but I also appreciate the vast difficulties we can encounter that make this seem at times impossible.

BACP registered (Certificate No:195710) I am a professional and competent therapist. BACP registration requires that I adhere to strict educational, practical and ethical standards. Part of this means that I hold my own professional indemnity insurance and attend regular Supervision sessions and CPD (continuing professional development). Regular and ongoing supervision is a distinctive requirement of the counselling professions. Supervision is essential to how practitioners sustain good practice throughout their working lives. Part of being BACP registered involves a commitment to the BACP Ethical Framework. More information on the BACP can be found on their website:
