Hello. Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Vicci and I am a qualified and experienced Adult and Children’s Counsellor, who offers individual counselling here at The Centre for Personal Development
You may be feeling stuck and confused, overwhelmed by your emotions, anxious or depressed. You may be struggling to cope with change – the end of a relationship, a bereavement, job loss or parenthood. You might not know what the problem is – just that something is not right. Whatever is on your mind, I can help you. Talking and being heard helps us to heal, and I offer a safe, confidential space where you can do this, at a pace that suits you.
The Centre for Personal Development is a Liverpool based counselling organisation that provides a warm and friendly environment for counselling to take place, with several beautifully decorated private rooms, which are both relaxing and comfortable for our clients. We also have experienced and confidential reception staff who provide a warm and friendly welcome to all of our visitors.
Working together with Adults
I provide a safe and trusting environment in which you feel comfortable enough to work through your issues. I feel being able to look openly and honestly about where we are in our lives is an essential part of our growth and development.
It’s your story, and I provide the right conditions for you to tell it and feel heard and understood. My role is to help you to explore your feelings and thoughts, in a way that supports you to make any changes you may wish. Talking about how you feel and being heard is the centre of therapy. Beyond this, it may be helpful to consider unhelpful behaviours, explore fresh perspectives, and different possibilities for change and growth. Working together we can explore where you are now, where you would like to be and how you can work towards getting there.
I have a lot of experience working with clients who are experiencing issues around;
- Panic Disorder
- Low Self- Esteem
- Confidence Issues
- Stress related issues
- Separation and Divorce
- Family breakdowns
- Relationship issues
Working with Children and Young People
I am a qualified and experienced Children and Young people’s Counsellor. I have an Accredited Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, which puts me in the top 1% of the country that is fully trained to work specifically in this area. I am an expert in my field and have been effectively helping Children and Young People across Merseyside, through private practice.
Many professionals want to work with children, but do not have the relevant skills and qualifications needed to effectively help Children and Young People. There is a big difference between counselling children and counselling adults, which is why the training I have received, I believe, is fundamental in my work.
Often children become lost, and struggle with their feelings and emotions, and need that extra support to be able to understand what is happening to them, find new ways of dealing with things, and develop new positive behaviours. Counselling can help children to explore who they are, and recognise their own strengths, which they learn to build upon to feel happy again.
Whilst counselling children and young people, I work with a variety of methods to encourage children to express what’s happening. This could be play or art therapy, or other creative interventions that allow children to find their own ways of expressing emotions and feelings with me.
I help children with issues such as;
- Emotional Difficulties
- Behavioural Difficulties
- Issues at school
- Low Confidence and Self Esteem
- Anxiety and Depression
- Loss or Bereavement
- Friendship Issues
- Self Harm
- Family dynamics and relationships
I am passionate about working together with you, to empower you to reach the positive outcome you desire. I can help you make the changes you feel you need, to move forward and live a more fulfilled quality of life.
