I have 12 years experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist and am a member of two professional bodies, COSCA and BABCP. I adhere strictly to my governing bodies code of practice and ethics to provide you with a first class service.
I specialise in treating anxiety disorders and have a proven track record of success in this area. 97% of my clients experience relief of their symptoms within 6 weeks of commencing therapy.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is effective in treating anxiety and depressive disorders and this is borne out by research.
I am also an accredited alcohol counsellor and have worked in this field for over 12yrs, I will be happy to work with you whether your goal is abstinence or cutting down and there will be the opportunity for you to explore why you are drinking or using drugs to excess.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 12 Yrs experience in the counselling field, having worked for the Majority of my career in the voluntary sector, providing one to one counselling and support for NHS funded projects. I specialise in the treatment of anxiety disorders, such as panic, general anxiety disorder,OCD, and PTSD. I also treat low mood and depression. I Provide clinical supervision to student therapists at Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Center and am fully self employed and insured. I receive monthly supervision for my practice from a BABCP accredited psychotherapist.
I am also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my registered governing body.
