Varta Kadiyan MBACP Reg.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I work with a wide range of issues and provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore any concerns you might have. I offer long term psychotherapy and short term counselling to suit your needs.
My work is informed by both Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches and I take a particular interest in exploring the way our past informs our present, thus gaining new awareness and insight into current issues.
But sometimes insight alone is not enough; this is why I consider the therapeutic relationship the most important aspect of therapy that provides a corrective emotional experience. I believe in every person`s own uniqueness and ability to grow and change but sometimes it can feel difficult to take the first step. This is why finding the right person to support you in your journey of self discovery is important. I aim to create a trusting relationship with my clients, so they would feel safe to explore their problems and find their own solutions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have trained over a number of years and have gained experience working with a wide range of issues in both short and long term settings. I have worked as a counsellor for the NHS and various agencies in the voluntary sector, as well as privately. My experience covers a diverse range of clients, including children and young people aged 13-18. I am an assessment worker for CPF Counselling Croydon, where I also provide long term, psychodynamic counselling for adults. I work under regular and ongoing supervision, and I am committed to continuous professional development.
I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, addictions, trauma, abuse, bereavement and loss, attachment issues, confidence and low self-esteem, sexuality and identity.
I help clients cope with high levels of stress, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, drawing on my experience, as well as offering insight oriented therapy.
