Varta Kadiyan MBACP Reg.
I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I work with a wide range of issues and provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore any concerns you might have. I offer long and short term therapy to suit individual needs.
My work is informed by Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches and I take a particular interest in exploring the way our past informs our present and allowing for new awareness and insight into current issues. I believe in every person`s own uniqueness and ability to grow and change but sometimes it can feel difficult to take the first step. This is why finding the right person to support you in your journey of self discovery is important. I aim to create a trusting relationship with my clients, so they would feel safe to explore their problems, identify patterns and repetitions, and find solutions to their problems.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have trained over a number of years and have gained experience working with a wide range of issues in both short and long term settings. I have worked as a counsellor for the NHS and various agencies in the voluntary sector, as well as privately. My experience covers a diverse range of clients, including children and young people aged 13-18. At present, I am an assessment worker for CPF Counselling Croydon, where I also provide long term, psychodynamic counselling for adults. I work under regular and ongoing supervision, and I am committed to continuous professional development.
I specialise in childhood trauma, anxiety and depression. Other issues I work with are relationships, bereavement and loss, pet bereavement, attachment and separation, confidence and low self esteem, sexuality and identity.
