I hold an MSc and a Diploma in Counselling (University of Bristol), a Diploma in Counselling Supervsion as well as Certificates in Life Coaching and Workplace Mediation. I am also an APSATS trained Betrayal Trauma Specialist commited to alleviating distress in partners of people struggling with Porn and Sex Addiction. My Senior Accreditation by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Snr Accred) and registration with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP) means that my practice is professionally accountable.

Having over 30 years experience I have worked with a huge range of people struggling with issues related to abuse, relationships, Sex Addiction, anxiety, depression, worry, anger, grief and bereavement, workplace stress, transitions/change and uncertainty as well as having a particular interest in working with women, their partners and families impacted by Post Natal Depression.

I've also practiced in a variety of settings which include:  University Wellbeing Services (Bath and UWE) and Occupational Health Departments at Bristol City Council and the Royal United Hospital in Bath. I have also worked with residents and staff at The Dean Neurological Hospital in Gloucester (providing counselling and training) as well as having being a Lead Counsellor in South Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust for over nine years alongside my Private Practice located equidistant between Bath and Bristol City Centres in Mangotsfield, BS16. Additionally I am part of a national network of therapists affiliated to a number of Employee Assistance Programmes aimed at supporting health and well being in the workplace as well as holding registration with a leading private healthcare provider.

As a Senior Accredited Counselling Supervisor (Individuals), I am trained to Diploma level in one-to-one and group supervision.  I also offer professional/vocational training, consultancy and facilitation for groups and organisations. I am committed to providing a professional, respectful and approachable service to all my clients and supervisees while continuing to develop and progress my own practice, knowledge and skills.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
