Una Kyne MBACP (Snr. Accred)
I have been working as a counsellor for 16 years and the last 12 years has been in the NHS, GP Surgeries in York. I look forward to hearing from you if you think I am the person to help with your problems. I am a Humanistic Counsellor who works relationally using CBT tools. I work collaboratively with you to help you make changes to improve the quality of your life or just to talk about things that are worrying you in a safe, confidential space. At our first meeting I would start with gaining an understanding of where you are right now in your life, and together we would work out and define what the main problem is and what you might hope to get from being in therapy. Some people need to use the counselling space to work through difficult and painful events and feelings, others might favour a more problem-solving approach to say a current work issue that is causing anxiety/depression or some might like to look at the past in order to make sense of the impact it has on the present. I can also provide tools and coping strategies that will assist you in the process of making positive changes if needed.
Making an Enquiry
To arrange an initial consultation you can email, text or make a phone call (07961 512364). I have an answer phone, where you can leave a private message giving me times when you will be available for me to return your call.
We can then arrange a suitable time and date to meet for an initial session. This will take place at my private practice which is based in York YO24 (just off the A1237). We would then arrange an agreed number of sessions should you wish to continue with the counselling therapy.
I can offer sessions on weekdays/evenings.
