I am a UKCP/MBACP registered Gestalt Psychotherapist and I have been working in various therapeutic settings with adults children and adolescents for the last eight years.
I gained an MSc and Diploma in Gestalt psychotherapy from Middlesex University and Metanoia Institute, one of the leading training centres for counsellors and psychotherapist in England.
Gestalt Psychotherapy is an evidence-based therapy, which means that over the last sixty years this approach has offered a robust, effective and lasting positive effects on the well-being of individuals, couples as well as organisations. It incorporates working on the awareness of the embodied relationship in the here-and-now. It also draws from the paradigm that all is interconnected in various ebbs and flows of life rather than existing separately.
I work in an embodied and relational way, and I pay attention to the patterns that emerge in the therapeutic relationship and other relationships can be seen as keys to how we are and feel.
I am mindful, compassionate and a grounded therapist.
Gestalt training opened the door for me to the path of self-development and connection to the wider community and minds alike. Since 2008 I have been practicing 5 Rhythms/Open Floor movement meditation on a regular basis. I've spent over 2000 hours dancing with U.K and international teachers and connecting to others through movement.
Since 2012 I have been regularly attending Vipassana (Insight ) meditations across Europe. I have been meditating on a regular basis and it helped me to bring me to a quieter place within myself. I have attended workshops and seminars led by internationally known insight teaches, like Tara Brach and recently I have been drawn to explore the works of Stephen Levine and the Conscious Dying Movement when supporting clients with bereavement.
I have been practicing hatha yoga on a regular basis since 1999 and it was through that practice that I became more aware and open to my own embodiment and body process.
I have completed a foundation training of modern shamanism in the Edinburgh Shamanic Center.
I have more than 600 hours of CPD as I am a keen learner and I am curious about people and the world.
Integrating these practices into my life and therapeutic practice supports and grounds me as well as offers me a direction in my development as a Gestalt practitioner.
My professional background is in teaching ( English, Science, Citizenship) and teaching training.
I offer evenings and weekends appointments.
