I am a BPC registered psychotherapist in private practice in Lee, South East London. I provide individual psychodynamic therapy and counselling for adults as well as more frequent psychoanalytic psychotherapy in collaboration with WPF Therapy.
I offer a safe space for you to talk about things (e.g. experiences, thoughts, feelings, fears, memories and losses) that may be difficult for you to manage or to overcome, or which may be getting in the way of you feeling more fully alive.
Sometimes life can be challenging, and it can be hard to overcome particular difficulties. Speaking to a professionally trained therapist can help you to understand and work through a range of difficulties in order to move forward, more fully and alive, in life.
People seek therapy for many reasons, including difficulties with anxiety or depression, or following a painful loss or a bereavement, or for wanting to understand patterns of behaviour that seem hard to break. Sometimes the reason might be a challenging relationship or a vague sense of something not being quite right. At other times there may be no specific problem other than an awareness that life is lacking meaning or a sense of direction.
How I work
My role is to help my clients to make sense of the issues that led them to seek out therapy. I do this by helping them to explore and make sense of thoughts, experiences and feelings which may feel overwhelming or, perhaps, quite out of reach. In this process we work together and consider both the presenting symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, as well as their underlying causes.
If you would like more information, or to arrange an initial meeting to talk about your situation and to see what it might be like to work with me as your therapist, feel free to contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I undertook a rigorous psychodynamic psychotherapy training at WPF Therapy in London, one of the leading psychotherapy institutions in London and in the UK. I also hold a:
- MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice (accredited by the University of Roehampton, the BPC and the BACP).
- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice (accredited by the University of Roehampton, the BPC and the BACP).
- BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology (University of London).
- Certificate in Counselling (WPF Therapy).
I am a registered professional member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC). I adhere to these organisations' codes of conduct.
I undertake regular supervision, further training and CPD to enrich my clinical work and professional development.
