Tuula Rasen PGDip, BPC
I am a British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) registered psychodynamic psychotherapist working in private practice in Lee, South East London. I also work in collaboration with WPF Therapy near London Bridge.
Sometimes life can be challenging, and it can be hard to overcome emotional difficulties. Speaking to someone impartial and professionally trained can help you to understand and work through a range of challenges in order to move forward in life.
Some of the reasons for therapy
People seek therapy for many reasons, including difficulties with anxiety or depression, or following a painful loss or a bereavement, or for wanting to understand patterns of behaviour that seem hard to break. Sometimes the reason might be a challenging relationship or a vague sense of something not being quite right. At other times there may be no specific problem other than an awareness that life is lacking meaning or a sense of direction.
Some of the reasons people seek therapy and counselling, include:
- bullying or harassment
- difficult experiences in childhood or earlier life
- divorce or separation
- fears or panic attacks
- loneliness or isolation
- loss or bereavement
- low self-esteem
- postnatal difficulties
- relationship problems or family conflict
- sexual difficulties
- suicidal thoughts
- traumatic experiences
- work-related issues
How I work
I work on a one-to-one basis with adults. I help my clients to express themselves as freely as possible to make sense of the issues that led them to seek out therapy. In this process we work together and consider both the presenting symptoms as well as their underlying causes. In my experience, people find this process rewarding as it can lead to a new perspective, deeper understanding, improved wellbeing and relief from emotional suffering.
If you would like more information, or to arrange an initial meeting, feel free to contact me. I respond promptly, normally within 24 hours.
