Tuula Rasen PGDip, BPC
I am a BPC registered psychodynamic psychotherapist based in Lee, South East London. I provide a calm, welcoming space where you have an opportunity to talk about and work through difficult issues to move forwards in life. Feel free to visit my website to find out more.
It can feel daunting to seek therapy when feeling low or vulnerable, or try to overcome issues alone or with the help of friends or family members. Speaking to someone impartial and professionally trained, who is sensitive to your fears and anxieties, can be very helpful.
Some of the reasons for therapy
People seek therapy for a range of reasons including: relationship issues, loss, overwhelming feelings such as anxiety and depression, or patterns of behaviour which seem difficult to break free from.
Sometimes the reason might be a vague sense of something not being quite right. At other times there may be no specific problem other than an awareness that life is lacking meaning or a sense of direction. Common reasons for therapy and counselling include:
- difficulties with anxiety
- relationship problems or family conflict
- stress, work-related issues
- trauma, traumatic experiences
- low self-esteem
- fears or sense of panic
- sexual difficulties
- bullying or harassment
- loneliness or isolation
- loss or bereavement
How I work
I work on a one-to-one basis with adults. I aim to work collaboratively and sensitively to help my clients make sense of troubling thoughts, feelings and experiences. The process of therapy may at times, of course, feel challenging because difficult, perhaps, painful issues are being talked about; but, it can lead to a new perspective, freedom from emotional suffering and an improved wellbeing. As a clinician, I am mindful of the possible difficulties and aim to provide a calm and safe space for my clients to give voice to what feels difficult.
If you would like more information or to arrange an initial meeting, feel free to contact me in confidence. I respond promptly, normally within 24 hours.
