About me

I am a Registered Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My Practice is based in Letchworth Garden City and I have been in practice over 20 years. My experience of work has been in a multi cultured society with regular clinical supervision.

I work in a creative way introducing choice to clients if they wish to work creatively or if they prefer talking therapy.

I work Monday-Tuesday-Thursday and Friday

My Background

I trained as a Person-Centred Counsellor and have knowledge and experience in different theoretical models and approaches through continuing professional development (CPD), enabling me to work with your individual needs and issues that are unique to you. Working therapeutically with a humanistic approach ensures I work in a process devoid of any religious influences or pre-disposed beliefs.

How I Work

I work according to the code and ethics of BACP. As a Registered accredited member of BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedure therein.

At the initial consultation I will work with you to understand your needs and develop an individual plan that suits your needs. In order to get the most from each session, it is important to develop an open and trustworthy environment. This will help you get the most from the session and feel in control of the work being done.

I offer individual and couple counselling. I also offer individual and group supervision.

I speak fluent English as well as Punjabi and Hindi and can offer an understanding of the issues that Asian families might face with.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
