Trina Etherton - (reg. BACP) Melksham, Trowbridge & Bradford On Avon area
Nr Bradford On Avon
Hi, my name is Trina.
I counsel adults and teenagers who are over the age of 16. I work with a range of issues like relational issues, general anxiety and more which you are able to review below under ‘areas of counselling I deal with’; I am able to do short or long term work.
Alongside my counselling training I have also had long term experience in the area of Pastoral Care. I have worked within schools, with those with special needs issues ,which enables me to work alongside helping those who have negotiated the educational system with learning difficulties. I also have three years experience counselling within a registered charity.
Counselling is a journey which is travelled together, the pace and duration I set in collaboration with you, with regular reviews to ensure that you can monitor the pace and identify possible areas you wish to work with; because we are all individuals with different life experiences and goals.
I like many, have had my own difficult life experiences from which I have learned from. This I feel helps me to reach out to others in their time of need.
Starting Counselling can feel daunting here is some basic steps to help you:
You can call or email me to set up an initial session; we'll talk about what you want to get out of counselling; if you are happy to continue we'll set up a second session, and will arrange to see you then for example to meet weekly/fortnightly
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Level 5 Diploma in Integrative Counselling from London Roehampton University, and I am trained in the Waverley Integrative Model of counselling which is a holistic approach.
I am an Individual member of British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
Hold relevant insurance & attend required regular supervision sessions with a fully qualified supervisor who is senior accredited with the BACP.
I follow the requirements of the BACP for continued profession development (CPD) and I am currently in a final year working toward a BA (Hons) alongside attending regular training/workshops to further develop my professional development e.g. – Working with disorganised attachment, Trauma & the Body, Anger Management, and Boundaries.

If there is an area not listed that you would like help in please do not hesitate to call and discuss as quite often issues overlap.
£35 (some concessions available).
Once you have made contact with me, I will suggest that we meet for an initial session. During this session we will discuss what brings you to Counselling, your hopes and expectations, and how it will work in practice.
Ultimately, this is an opportunity for us both to decide whether it seems appropriate for us to work together at this time. The cost of this session is £20.
All sessions are 1 hour, of which 10 minutes will be admin e.g. organising appointments.
My aim is to encourage and support you in whatever area you wish to explore or talk about, in a safe,
non-judgemental environment. I am trained as an Integrative counsellor. This means I have been trained to work in different ways to suit different needs.
Psychodynamic: Looking at childhood and how patterns formed in childhood may be affecting life in the present.
Creatively: Using more creative interventions for people who find exploring issues with visual and hand on experience easier than traditional talking therapy.
It is advised to be aware that counselling is a process it is not a quick fix because of this It is more beneficial if set up on a regular appointment, but as a counsellor I understand at times life does not allow for regular commitments and we can discuss this at the initial meeting.
If you have any further questions then do not hesitate to contact me, or note down to discuss when we first meet.
