About me

I am an adult, child and adolescent counsellor and have been practicing both privately and working in schools for the past 14 years.  I work from home in a confidential environment with clients on a range of issues in a person-centred and humanistic way.

Counselling can often help people through empathic and congruent conversations with their therapists to find their own way.   My Person-Centred training means that I absolutely believe that you, the client, has everything that you need to be fully functioning in the world, however sometimes we got lost and need help to find clarity.

Children/Adolescents
With children and adolescents I work entirely with what they bring to the sessions and offer a safe and confidential space for them to explore what can often be complex feelings as they try to find their place in the world.  I believe that counselling can help make sense of life when children are struggling with growing up and all that this brings.  I use arts, play, talking and drama therapy with my clients - whatever they need to help them on their journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained for five years at The Metanoia Institute - completing the accredited Person-Centred Diploma in 1998.  I have had additional training and workshops from the Child Centre for Mental Health which has helped me specialise in my work with children and adolescents. During this time, I worked at a half-way house for using addicts and for a local GP surgery on a voluntary basis to acquire my hours.

Since 2001 I have been working full time at a North London school as the schools in house counsellor where I have gained experience with children from 4-18 years old and dealt with a variety of issues ranging from eating disorders, self-harm, obsessive compulsive disorders and anxiety to depression, bereavement and relationship issues.  I carry out class observations and run circle times with the children to help them when it is needed.

I have also recently set up another counselling service for a school in Hampstead.

I am registered and accredited by the BACP and adhere to their Code of Ethics, in addition I am trained to Level 3/4 in Safeguarding.
