About me

By being here I sense you have taken the first step in finding a way of living for you.

It could be you need to deal with a life event, a mental health concern, a relationship / work issue or that life just isn't working and you do not know why and yet want to feel happier.   Whatever your reason for counselling I am here to listen.

I have worked with, Teenagers, Adults, Older Adults, who have experienced difficulties with Relationships, Bereavement, Anxiety, Depression and more.

  • The aim in Counselling - is to look more deeply into the emotions, conflicts and distress behind the feelings that can hinder you in life today.

Sessions are available weekly/fortnightly they are confidential and separate from everyday life, and this can enable you to talk openly without feeling you are being a burden, going to be gossiped about or judged.

  • As an ‘Integrative’ Counsellor, I draw upon a range of thinking, ideas and techniques, including those of Attachment (how we relate to others), Humanistic (what's happening for us here and now) and Solution-Focused theories.

Difficult experiences in the past can continue to affect the way we feel and behave in the present.

Therapy can enable you to heal, grow, understand and develop your self awareness.

That’s why so many people – from all walks of life and with a whole range of different problems – use Therapy as a way of resolving personal issues and finding a more successful path through life.

You may only need a few sessions (4-6) where you are encouraged to work through your own issues, we can review how you feel it has worked for you, if you would like longer term therapy, that's for you to decide.

I have had a wide range of experience working with:-

Young People (from aged 13 years +):-

Issues may include,

*Low Self Esteem,
*Self harm,
*Addictions (Alcohol & Drugs)
*Life/Peer pressure
*and those who are suffering with long term health issues.

Those who have experienced:-

*Anxiety/Depression and stress,
*Relationship dilemmas (whether it is partner/family).
*Generalised Anxiety Disorder,
  and more.
*Low self esteem/ Self confidence,
*Family problems,
*Work related issues,
*Child Loss Bereavement,

        Sessions are available weekly/fortnightly :-

As a Life Coach - We would look at Positivity and Defeating Negative Thoughts, Career and Life Direction, Goal Setting, Motivational Sessions, Personal Development and more.

Coaching is not about judging or criticising but learning how to unlock your full potential, raising your awareness of the strengths & talents you already have. It is about creating a shift from where you are to where you want to be.

The aim as a Life Coach - is Improving Goals and Achievements, Stress Reduction, Confidence & Self Esteem.

However, I am happy to work with anything you would like to bring to counselling.

This poem by Theodore Roszak (1981) sums up what I aim to offer as a counsellor:

You and I….
we meet as strangers, each carrying a mystery within us.
I cannot say who you are; I may never know you completely.
But I trust you are a person in your own right, possessed of a
beauty and value that are the Earth's richest treasures.

So I make this promise to you:
I will impose no identities upon you, but will invite you to become
yourself without shame or fear.
I will hold open a space for you in the world and defend your
right to fill it with an authentic vocation.
For as long as your search takes, you have my loyalty.

The core of any successful Counselling/Coaching is the rapport in the therapeutic relationship you build with your chosen Therapist.

It is important you find someone you feel safe, trust, and who you can be honest and open with.

I see my role as listening, reflecting, supporting, tentatively challenging and offering input both as a Counsellor/Coach and as a fellow human with knowledge and my own life-experience.
