Tracey Revell MBACP
Many years of practising has enabled me to tune into each and every client's therapeutic needs. Some clients find just talking and reflecting really helpful. While others prefer and want direct challenging towards their unhelpful beliefs and behaviours. They also want tools and methods to help them make positive, lasting changes to their lives. Then there are those who benefit from both ways of working. I will work and adapt with you to find the therapy that suits you best. That includes adapting to each and every session too, because the therapy is a 'fluid' process and each session is unique.
As we build a trusting theraputic relationship, I will challenge you as and when necessary. However it is always done at a pace that suits you. It is important that you always feel in control. I will listen to you with warmth, in an empathic, non-judgemental way. When appropriate, I will invite you to step outside yourself and question behaviour that is causing you pain and discomfort in your life. This will enable you to search and reconnect with your authentic/true-self, rather listening to and following unhelpful patterns of behaviour caused by your life's 'conditioning'. (Conditioning occurs when we change our natural way of being to please significant others). Conditioning may also occur when an event or series of events have affected you in an adverse way.
I will help facilitate this change with all the experience I have. I will help you look at things in a different way. There's nothing more satisfying to me than witnessing when a client realises that they are stronger and happier than they could ever imagine themselves to be. Sometimes all it takes is to step outside yourself and see that things can be done differently. Leading you to have a more positive, happier and fulfilling life.
I am trained in Person-Centred Therapy and CBT Therapy. My private practice is very private with off street parking.
