Tracey Burford - Registered Member MBACP
I provide confidential counselling for all types of issues and work with individuals and couples of all ages. I work in a respectful non-judgemental way enabling you to explore your issues in a way that is right for you, always working in your best interest to help you move forward in your life.
I have a natural ability to connect with people at all levels and my warm friendly manner will soon put you at ease as you take the first step in coming to counselling.
Clients come to counselling for many reasons such as a recent bereavement, relationship issues, illness or due to a change of circumstances, however there are times when clients don`t even know why they feel the way they do.
As well as providing a safe therapeutic environment I am also a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and follow their ethical framework ensuring I work in my clients best interest at all times.
Anyone can access counselling and there is no need to be referred by a doctor or any other medical professional simply contact me by phone, email or via my website, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
I have experience working in different areas of counselling such as loss and bereavement, terminal illness, rape, sexual abuse. I also specialise in military life issues.
I also provide support for couples with relationship issues although this is NOT my specialist area and if the issues involved are too complex I may need to refer on to a specialist in this field.
My counselling studio is located just outside Richmond set in the beautiful grounds of Aske with its own facilities and has plenty of onsite parking. This location also provides the opportunity for those who prefer to take in the great outdoors as part of their counselling session such as going for a refreshing country stroll or to sit in a tranquil outdoor setting for the counselling session.
Two significant events in my own life lead me on my counselling journey one being the sudden death of a close friend and the other being an incident which left my son critically injured. Somehow in my search for answers I found myself working with people who inspired me with their zest for life against all the odds and from this my counselling journey began.
Life challenges us all from time to time and my own life has been no exception there will always be events which affect the way we think, feel and live our lives on a daily basis. Significant events such as marriage, births, divorce and of course death can affect us all and I have certainly had my fair share of these providing me with plenty of life experience to draw upon.
I lived and worked in a military environment for many years and this has given me an insight into issues unique to military life, this has become an area of expertise in my counselling work and I often find myself providing counselling support for serving soldiers, veterans and their families.
My counselling studio is located just outside Richmond set in the beautiful surroundings of Aske.
Please contact me for an appointment either by telephone, email or by visiting my website.
