At 65 years of age I have served twenty six years in the Armed Forces, and worked in industry for six years before retiring. I trained as a Person Centred/Integrative counsellor for six years, and continue updating my knowledge through further study and various training programmes. After gaining a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling studies I have continued to gain experience in various fields of personal interest including PTSD and domestic violence. I have had a lot of ups and downs in my life, providing me with wide and various life experiences. As a result I believe the three main assets I bring to my counselling are honesty openness and common sense.
As a Person Centred Counsellor I believe we all have within us the positivity, drive and motivation to overcome the difficulties we encounter in life, enabling us all to live happy and functional lives. In a safe, confidential environment we will explore your innermost thoughts, feeling and emotions. You will have complete autonomy and respect that will allow the development of a non judgemental and empathic relationship, clarifying who and where you are in your lives, and enabling you to make the decisions necessary for change.
I have studied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Integrative theories as part of my studies, as a result I am able to help with following issues:
