BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Feedback From Clients

"The last few weeks have been life changing for me, and your input and help has, without a doubt, carried me through. Your instant response to my cry for help along with your understanding, support and reassurance has meant so much to me. You have been the biggest help in enabling me to save myself and piece my life back together."

"R"

"Following a difficult period in my life I sought help from Tom and he was fantastic. He put so many things into perspective for me and helped me through this period. I was so impressed with the way he looked after me that I referred a relative to him who was suffering low self esteem- within a few sessions he was like a different person. He has since gone from strength to strength and has now started his dream job. I cannot recommend Tom Highly enough."

Damian O'Reilly MBE

" Working with Tom helped me regain control of my life and rediscover purpose and a sense of my own worth. Talking through simple yet powerful ideas, and using them to counter feelings of confusion, fear and regret, gave me a positive outlook and real hope for the future."

"K"

" What can I say but thank you so very much for all your help and support. I knew I couldn't  of changed without you. Thank you for my self belief."
