First steps in seeking help can feel daunting and it's normal to feel apprehensive as you begin to take your first steps towards getting the help and support you are looking for. I hope that it may help to learn a little bit about me and how I work with clients.
I have 10 years experience of counselling in a wide variety of settings and I am now able to offer therapy to adult individuals and couples in comfortable and discreet premises close to the centre of Leeds in Headingley.
As a Relational Counsellor my core training at Leeds Metropolitan University drew on both Person-Centred and Psychodynamic traditions and this forms the basis of the way I work today.
I aim to work alongside you and at your pace, in order that together we can fully explore and ultimately gain a better understanding of the difficulties you may be facing. It is also important to recognise the part that you play in your relationships with others and I hope to help you to consider your choices and when you might want to make changes so that significant relationships with others, as well as your relationship with yourself can be better.
Some clients prefer to work on a short-term basis (6 weeks +) whilst others would like to work for considerably longer - we can talk about what may be most appropriate for you during the initial session.
