About me

I am a Chartered Health Psychologist and HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.  I am trained in a variety of approaches, basing my practise on EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Hypnotherapy.

Throughout my career in Psychology I have worked with a broad array of issues: PTSD, complex PTSD, chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, to name a few.

Initially I worked in private practice in Guernsey, building a very successful practice where I became specialised in working with various traumas, leading me to become a trauma-informed psychologist.  I am able to recognise that various traumatic experiences can impact challenges in the here and now.  I decided in 2020 to move into the NHS (just before Covid hit) to allow me the chance to develop further specialities and focus on specific skills building.  I have worked in one of the world's leading chronic pain management programmes at St Thomas' Hospital.  I am now working as a diabetes psychologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals.

My core interests are working with people who have long-term health conditions and also those with a trauma history.

I am registered Severely Sight Impaired and have a Guide Dog with me in clinic.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
