I am able to provide both long term and short term counselling. I work under the ethos of Comma Counselling, helping you to turn life's full stops in to a pause for breath.
I believe life never gives us more than we can handle, it is just at times life appears to have more faith in us, than we have in ourselves. Using an integrative approach to tailor the process to make it as unique as each individual I see. Providing a safe, confidential non judgemental space where it creates a freedom to speak the unspeakable and be heard.
I have experience of working with clients in both long term and short term work who have been experiencing anxiety and depression in particular. Working with clients to increase their self awareness and working on self development techniques to create more robust coping strategies to help make life more manageable.
I also have experience of working with clients who have issues with a variety of addictions. Providing a safe space for clients to explore their behaviours around substances and other addictions. A non judgemental space where clients can identify and explore their addictions and implement any changes they may deem appropriate.
Exploring and increasing our self awareness helps us to identify choices we have available that will help to change areas of our lives we want to change. It is also an opportunity to explore our experiences and if we are carrying any burdens from them, that effect or influence our thoughts, feelings, behaviors or emotions. By being aware of what we are currently experiencing in ourselves, we are able to make informed choices on our actions, this in turn influences our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and eventually our experiences. If we change nothing, then nothing changes and we keep experiencing the same things, by becoming willing to make different informed choices we are able to make constructive changes of our own choosing.
I offer the first session which is an initial assessment for free, this is an opportunity to explore what it is you would like to change. It is also an opportunity to ensure if I am the right counsellor for you.
