Life never gives us more than we can handle, although there are points when we may feel, life has more faith in our abilities to cope than we have. And it isn't usually the elephants that trip us up, usually its the mice.
One to one counselling provides a safe space for you to explore not only yourself to increase self awareness, but also through exploration of any discomfort you maybe experiencing, this helps to process and work through to a comfortable resolution. Living life on life's terms can at times feel overwhelming, and it is usually during these times we are unable to recognise choices that are available to us due to our focus being on the discomfort. Understanding our patterns of behaviour, experiences, thoughts, feelings and emotions helps us to process and resolve things that maybe causing us discomfort.
I am able to work with you in both long term and short term work, tailoring the process to suit your needs working within the boundaries set by the new ethical framework of the BACP. I use an integrative approach that is based upon a humanisitic core, although I do also use techniques that are more commonly associated with Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, providing a safe space that is as individual and unique as each person that engages with therapy.
