About me

Note: At this time where being indoors can be worrying for some I am offering a Walk The Talk service in our great outdoors in addition to working in the more traditional counselling room. Further details can be found in my profile - other areas section.

It is not about me... it is about you

"Everybody hurts sometimes" are not just lyrics of a famous song but poetically also sums up the human condition for all of us.

Is this hurt for you coming from feeling afraid, misunderstood, not accepted by others?
Is it because you feel down, saddened or depressed and are struggling to lift your head and find a way out of the darkness?
Is it because you are feeling anxiety or stress and without the energy or capacity to cope?
Is it because you are lost and unable to think and see clearly?
Is it because you feel isolated, alone or lonely without another person to talk to?
Is it because...... you feel all of these, a combination of these or just unsure what your feelings are and that you just feel hurt?

Life can be good, it can be enjoyed

But sometimes in our life it can be hard, unclear and we feel it is out of our control.

ALL of us will have times in our life that will try us and that we will be troubled by  - this is life. This is normal.

You do not have to do this alone, You are not alone.

I am here and I will help you find your way through what is troubling you.

If you feel you need a mature person with life experience that is down to earth and friendly to talk to in the area of Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell, Woodford, Loughton then contact me to discuss further and to arrange an appointment.

The cornerstone of the service I provide is built around the core principles of the ethical framework I work within. You will be treated:

  • In Confidence
  • Respectfully
  • As an individual
  • Without judgement
  • With integrity

I understand that even considering counselling and seeking help from another person is a big step and it is normal to feel apprehensive or fearful.

I do work alongside people just like you and you do not have to do this alone, contact me on 07515 963209 or email me to discuss further and arrange an appointment.

I do look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am a great believer in the physical and mental health benefits of walking so I now offer the possibility to "Walk the talk" by taking the counselling out of the four walls and into the countryside.

Walk the talk is a way of combining counselling and walking together so rather than sitting in a room you can talk about what is going on for you while walking through the great outdoors.

I have a number of different walks using forest paths or parks in the Loughton, Theydon Bois, Buckhurst Hill, Theydon Bois, Epping or Brentwood areas.

I have outlined the benefits of walking in the articles I have written on my facebook page that can be accessed via clicking on the facebook icon above at the top of this page
