Men, just like anyone else, need help at times to deal with the impact of difficult life events. Someone to help you navigate your way through stages in life where you have reached some sort of crossroads and are uncertain of the best way forward.

Talking Therapy, or Counselling, is a time and space for you to talk through whatever is troubling you.
Your counsellor Tim Griffiths creates a safe, confidential and accepting place where you can feel confident to speak freely about absolutely anything.
Tim will sit alongside you to help you make sense of your issues or problems, gain new insights and reach your own decisions about a way forward.

Training, Qualifications & Experience
I am a qualified counsellor and member of the BACP (MBACP) and have worked in the NHS for over 20 years. As a counsellor I work with individual adults on a short or long term basis and in the past have seen a broad spectrum of clients of all ages either in primary care or through the charitable organization, MIND.
I am an Integrative Counsellor – which means I use a range of psychological approaches, such as:
- psychodynamic (mindful of the unconscious and appreciating childhood experience impacts on adulthood),
- cognitive behavior therapy (recognizing how patterns of thinking and behaviour influence mood)
- person-centred and humanistic (working with you as a person, believing that with counselling support you have the resources within you to make the changes you need to get through a difficult place and move on with your life)
My approach is to focus on you and help you to greater self-awareness so that you are able to make changes which will help you. I will work alongside you, offering you a non-judgmental, safe and supportive space for you to explore your feelings and issues as you work out what changes you want to make.
As someone who is also trained in massage therapy and bodywork, I appreciate the closeness between what is happening mentally, emotionally and how this can present itself through bodily sensation.
I can work with clients weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Most clients have between 6 - 16 sessions.

Fees
Tim Griffiths operates an ethical charging policy for counselling sessions. Each session lasts an hour.
First appointment fee
There is a flat rate fee for FIRST appointments of £20 per hour.
Ethical charging policy
For clients who feel they would benefit from regular counselling sessions, Tim Griffiths operates an ethical charging policy, which is designed to make the cost of the counselling session reflect your ability to pay based on your income. This offers a range of fees between £10 - £40 per hour.
Clients wanting to make use of the ethical charging arrangements should be intending to have a minimum of 4 appointments.

Standard fee for 2nd and subsequent appointments
For clients who do not wish to participate in the ethical charging arrangements, the fee for 2nd and subsequent appointments is £25 per hour.
