Tim Dalton MSc MBACP
I am an integrative therapist qualified to Masters level, specialising in attachment theory, cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred approach. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and have over 3 years of experience working with clients with a wide range of presenting issues. The training I have undertaken has been extensive and broad, and it is of great advantage in the counselling room to be able to draw on a number of different theoretical approaches.
As all therapists should tell you, it is essential that you are able to trust and get on with your therapist. It doesn't matter how much experience or what their theoretical stance, unless you feel comfortable with your therapist progress in counselling will be considerably impaired. To support my view on this, I offer a free assessment so that you can meet me before deciding to commit to therapy.
With the increasing demands for counselling to be able to fit around busy schedules, or just in order for it to suit your situation better, I offer the service in person, via skype, through online chat, or via telephone.
If counselling in person is best suited to your requirements then I use a specially designed counselling room at the recently refurbished Salvation Army building in Loughborough. The room has direct access and off road parking.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters qualification from Derby University in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. It included extensive training in a number of different counselling theories, specialising in attachment theory, cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred approach. The course was BACP accredited and I am also a registered member (MBACP).
I have over 3 years experience of counselling practice with clients with a broad range of presenting issues. The broad training I have undertaken has proved very beneficial for my clients. Each individual theoretical perspective is capable of helping in most situations, but to be able to approach every situation from a number of different perspectives is invaluable.
