Tia Konieczna, UKCP, MBACP
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working in private practice in Tunbridge Wells and offer both daytime and evening appointments.
I have been trained in transpersonal psychotherapy which incorporates psychodynamic, person-centered and existential approaches and I have undertaken additional training in CBT and TA. For younger children I use play and creative therapies, having trained with PTUK.
I see clients for individual counselling, play and creative therapies and psychotherapy and have experience working therapeutically with a wide range of difficulties including:
- Anger and violent behaviour
- Relationship Issues
- Suicidal Ideation
- Gender Dysphoria and Gender Identity
- Mental health issues
- Disability and special needs
- Motherhood and family issues
- Childhood Difficulties
I have over ten years of experience working in the care sector in a variety of settings, including residential children's homes, adult day care, and a therapeutic community for children.
I have worked therapeutically with both children and adults with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural difficulties and personal histories of neglect, trauma and abuse.
Prior to my training as a psychotherapist I worked for a local charity, Tunbridge Wells Mental Health Resource, where among my varied activities I offered one to one emotional support to individuals experiencing and living with mental ill health.
I work with both adults and children (see www.birdhousetherapies.co.uk for children's services).
