Hello and welcome to my counselling directory page. I am a Registered Member of the BACP with more than 10 years of experience helping people through psychotherapy, counselling and energy psychotherapy.
People come to see me for a wide range of reasons such as:
struggles with depression, anxiety or other overwhelming feelings
grief due to loss of loved ones
the search for meaning or purpose in their lives
workplaced based stress
loss of identity
spiritual emergence and emergency
unresolved trauma from childhood or other trauma
questions of identity including sexual orientation
addiction and complusive tendencies
I also work with clients who are looking to explore new directions for themselves and want to explore how they might further fulfill their potential.
I work in an integrative way drawing on my core training and experience as a Psychosynthesis counsellor and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) therapist. Psychosynthesis is a integrative, holistic approach with draws on a range of therapies and includes body, feelings, mind and spirituality in its framework. EFT also known as tapping, is often described as psychological acupuncture without the needles. It is known to quickly release and resolve emotional distress and combines very well with talking therapies.
Please visit my website if you would like to know more about Psychosynthesis or EFT - www.tomshutte.com.
If this is your first experience of psychotherapy or counselling you may be anxious at the prospect of talking about yourself and the counseling process in general. In this case an initial meeting will be an opportunity for you to experience first hand whether counselling could work for you. After initial contact by phone or email we would arrange to meet as soon as possible at either Clerkenwell, Bank or London Bridge.
During an initial session we would explore some of the issues that have led you to seek support and you would have the opportunity to ask questions about how we might work together. Following this if you chose to continue with counselling we would either agree to work together for an initial period or I could refer you on to a colleague.
All sessions are kept strictly confidential in line with BACP ethical guidelines.
