About me

Hello and welcome to my counselling directory page. I am an experienced BACP Registered counselor and psychotherapist based in Central London (Bank / Mansion House, London Bridge and Clerkenwell)

I imagine you are here because you or someone you know is in need of help and support at the moment.  People mostly come to counselling and psychotherapy because there is something in their lives causing them pain and suffering and they don’t know how to find their way out of it. Sometimes they also come to explore their life purpose or to get support to bring about a major change in their life direction.

If you are in either of these situations I can help.

My therapeutic style is both integrative and collaborative meaning that with each client I draw on a range of tools and techniques from different modalities to create a therapeutic style that is effective for you.

The techniques that I draw on include Psychosynthesis techniques such as guided imagery, voice dialogue, meditation, subpersonality work, dream work and art therapy as well as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) one of the most popular modalities in the emerging field of Energy Psychotherapy.  I’ve found that these approaches really help people gain relief from difficult feelings and symptoms whilst supporting them in making the changes they want to make in their lives.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their Ethical Framework.  My practice is fully insured

First steps

If this is your first experience of psychotherapy or counselling you may be anxious at the prospect of talking about yourself and the therapy process in general. If this is the case I'd like to encourage you to contact me for a 20 minute conversation on the phone or skype; I offer this to all prospective clients free of charge so that they can ask me questions about how we might work together.

Following this initial call you may then decide to book an initial session. We will use this session to explore what you are needing from therapy and whether my approach can be helpful to you. This may lead us on to working together on a short or longer term basis. In some instances during our initial contact I might decide that I am not well suited to provide you effective therapy, if this is the case I will discuss this with you and provide you with some referral options.

All of my contact with clients including initial phone calls are kept in the strictest of confidence in accordance with BACP ethical guildelines.

Training, qualifications & experience

For as long as I can remember I have been interested in psychology, consciousness and different perspectives on what it is to be human. In 2002 I graduated from the University of Cape Town with a first degree in Psychology.  In 2005 I discovered Psychosynthesis and the writings of Roberto Assagioli through a chance meeting with one of the founders of the Psychosynthesis Trust in London.  The Psychosynthesis model appealed to me because of its transpersonal approach, simplicity, depth and the deep resonance I felt with Assagioli’s writings on Self Realisation and the nature of the psyche.

I completed the Psychosynthesis Certificate year course in 2006 and then went on to study for a further two years graduating with a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling in 2008.  This is a comprehensive transpersonal therapy training and is validated by the University of East London and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Following completion of my Psychosynthesis training and registration I then worked in private practice in London before moving back to South Africa in 2010 where I worked as an addictions counsellor at the residential clinic, Harmony House.  Harmony House is a multi-modality treatment centre which focuses on the link between trauma and addiction combining various therapies with the 12-step approach to addiction.  At Harmony House I worked as an individual, group and family counsellor.

In 2013 I returned to London and am currently seeing clients in Bank, London Bridge and Clerkenwell. In 2016 I started an MA in Psychotherapy through Middlesex University.

Alongside my core training as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I have completed courses in Emotional Freedom Technique (Levels 1 & 2), Art Therapy and different styles of Trauma Therapy.  My experience includes volunteering as both a guide and team leader for Kosmicare, a harm reduction project which provides support to people having difficult psychedelic experiences. Alongside my work as a therapist I also have many years of experience working as a business coach in the field of social entrepreneurship in both the UK and South Africa.

I regularly undertake further training as part of my continuing professional development.
