I am an experienced integrative counsellor, drawing on many traditions in order to tailor the therapy to your individual needs. Whether you are experiencing difficulties within a relationship, struggling with a medical condition or trauma or abuse, caring for somebody else, coming to terms with a life transition or seeking direction, I am convinced that counselling offers a valuable opportunity to all.
I offer acceptance and confidentiality in a compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere, to help you explore the issues that are troubling you. I believe that the most important element of counselling is the relationship between the client and the counsellor. I see it is as a collaborative process in which I support and guide you, as we work together to explore your experiences, feelings, thoughts, behaviours and choices. Once we have a deeper understanding of your problem we will identify realistic goals and possible ways forward, which we can test and modify as necessary. I am also trained to work with psycho-spiritual issues; if you wish to look at spiritual issues as part of the counselling equation, I will respect your personal beliefs and boundaries and ensure your autonomy as part of my professional code of ethics (http://www.acc-uk.org/public/docs/page-pdfs/EandPractice.pdf).
