Couple & Relationship Therapy

Whether you are in a personal dilemma or relationship crisis, we can help you change the future of your relationship.

Maybe you just can not seem to get along anymore, and you are not sure why.

Couple therapy will help you understand yourself better in relation to your partner and the relationship dynamic and explore what keeps you stuck – which often involves recurring patterns from the past.

Our aim is to support you in gaining a deeper awareness of the conscious and unconscious relationship dynamics which will help you to create a better understanding and enable both partners to relate to each other in a healthier way.

Choosing the right therapist is highly essential; that is why we  offer a free 15-minute initial telephone consultation so that you have a clear idea of the therapeutic process and how I work.

We can help with issues such as:

  • Communication Problems
  • Managing Arguments and Conflict
  • Lack of Emotional and Sexual intimacy
  • Affairs /Infidelity in Relationships
  • Issues with Sex and Desire
  • Trust Issues /  Impact of past trauma on relationships, including repeated patterns
  • Shame and Vulnerability
  • Relationship loss and Break-up
  • Dealing with Change, including childbirth
  • Financial Issues

We are passionate about our work, and we are committed to providing an excellent service to help our clients:

  • Fulfil overall therapeutic goals within six sessions
  • Improve self-esteem
  • Provide clear techniques and strategies along with unique ways and ideas to treat stress, anxiety and depression

We have over ten years of experience and a proven track record of our success rate with our clients, and we will support them throughout the entire journey of change.

Our aim is to help you with any problem or emotional pain that you are finding hard to handle on your own, resolve these difficulties, achieve your goals, and provide you with the tools to ensure long-lasting success.

How counselling can help

Counselling can help you with those difficult times in life when you need to resolve a problem which is stopping you from achieving your personal best. As therapists, we believe that there is no problem that cannot be resolved to your satisfaction and there are no limits to what can be achieved within counselling.

We believe that the relationship between therapist and client can be a vehicle for growth.

Together, we can explore how events of the past, often from childhood, have contributed to your current situation. This process will promote emotional growth at your own pace. This will also help you to gain greater self-awareness, increase your esteem and help you to understand the relationship with yourself and others. This process will create a sense of inner peace and enable you to understand your emotions and gain more self-identify.

We are fully qualified, registered and accredited members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and we practice within the organisation's ethical framework. We provide personal development and career coaching as well as clinical supervision, supervising counsellors and staff requiring external supervision.

We are non-judgemental therapists, we provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment where you can talk, express and reflect on any difficulties and feelings that you may find difficult to share with others.

We use different counselling approaches such as; Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt approach. We will use the appropriate counselling approach(es) to meet your personal needs and help you understand the root cause of your problems.

What to expect from the first session and beyond

During the first session, we will gather information about you, such as your previous counselling experience, and any health issues you may have, and explore the issues that have brought you to seek therapy. We will also discuss your goals for the therapy sessions and touch on your childhood experiences. The following sessions will be where the work begins, as we delve deeper into the issues to help you achieve your therapeutic goals. We will review your progress by doing a "before and after" comparison to ensure that you are making progress. Throughout the sessions, you will be given homework, resources, and recommended reading materials to support you.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
