The Children's Rooms is a specialist psychology service for children and young people. Our aim is to provide the best psychological care from highly qualified and experienced psychologists and therapists, all of whom share a love of what they do. We do our utmost to ensure that children feel comfortable and supported while they are at The Children's Rooms and many report that they love coming to see their psychologist.
Watching your child or teenager struggling with painful emotions is difficult for any parent. It can be daunting to think about them needing psychological help. At The Children's Rooms we do our utmost to help parents access the most appropriate type of help for their child, as easily and quickly as possible.
We see children for the full range of psychological and emotional issues, including anxiety, phobias, OD, worry, low self-esteem, low mood and depression, anger and bereavement. We see children who have behavioural problems, are school refusers, or have constipation, soiling or bedwetting problems. We help children who have pain and fatigue disorders manage their conditions more effectively. We are also able to assess for Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as help these children, and their parents, manage their difficulties more effectively.
Some parents come to The Children's Rooms without their child ever attending. This is often the case with small children, but sometimes older children too. It may be that your child is resistant to the idea of coming for therapy or that you would simply like advice on how to deal with your child's difficulties.
Appointments are usually available outside of school hours, including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. There is no waiting list and children are normally seen within a week of your initial enquiry.
