We are a registered charity with a sole aim of wanting to help people - both clients and counsellors, our aim really is that simple.
We provide a professional counselling service for children and young people aged 5 to 25 in the Merthyr Tydfil and surrounding areas. Our team of counsellors are highly qualified and experienced, particularly in working with children and young people. We offer counselling in a wide range of areas - please contact us to see how we can help you.
We also offer family mediation - family situations can cause tension between children, young people and parents/care givers within the same family. We offer a comfortable, safe space to discuss differences of opinions, views and behaviours and to negotiate a way forward in a counselling environment where EVERYONE's opinions are explored.
We are currently able to accept referrals for clients aged 50+
Training, qualifications & experience
All our counsellors are qualified to a minimum of Level 4, with our children and young people counsellors usually qualified to level 7. All our counsellors are members of BACP or NCS, are insured and have regular supervision. We pride ourselves in our strict adherence to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
We work in partnership with a wide range of public and private organisations including Families First, Social Services, Primary & High Schools, Domestic Abuse Teams, Health professionals, amongst many others.
We provide our counselling team with regular monthly supervision and training to enhance and improve their skills and knowledge. The majority of our counselling team have several years experience of face to face counselling and come from a wide variety of backgrounds - allowing us to offer you the most appropriate counsellor - depending on your need.
