If you're experiencing relationship problems, anxiety, depression, bereavement, or other issues that are making life difficult for you, I could help you to find a way forward.
I see each person as unique, and offer you the space to develop in your own way, in a confidential and supportive environment. This can help you to reach a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself, and to experience life in a more rewarding way.
My approach is integrative and person-centred, so I work with your agenda, and consider the relationship between counsellor and client to be an important part of therapy.
I believe that being listened to with empathy, whatever you are going through, is a healing experience in itself.
It can be helpful to look at emotional difficulties in the context of family and other social relationships. Taking time to explore these relationships with an independent, non-judgemental professional can give you more confidence in yourself, and in how you deal with others.
When seeing couples, I work with my colleague Marcia Gamsu, an experienced psychotherapist (registered with UKCP, and accredited with BACP). These sessions take place in NW11. Having two therapists present gives a valuable extra perspective, and makes it more likely that both clients will feel they have been fully heard.
I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling, depending on your needs and preferences.
I'm an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
My location on Ludgate Hill in the City of London can be easily reached from Blackfriars, City Thameslink, St Paul's, and Fleet Street. In North London, I work at Hornsey Vale, near Crouch End, Haringay and Finsbury Park.
You're welcome to ring or email me if you'd like to arrange a first session, where we can discuss your hopes and expectations of counselling, and ways of working together.
