I am a firm believer in, 'i am not what happened to me i am who i choose to become'. Jung.
I believe in the strength of relationship and hope that together we will explore the other possible ways of being. I believe in empowering people to be able to take the steps toward positive change.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their code of ethics.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and CBT practitioner, offering confidential counselling on a wide range of issues. Alongside my private practice i work in an number of different setting offering telephone and face to face counselling. I provide confidential short term CBT and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to young people and adults on a one-to-one basis. I have several years experience working with young people and adults, and experience working in a school; delivering short-term solution-focussed counselling.
After an inital assessment session, where i will be information gathering, and talking about the reason for seeking counselling, we will work together in drawing up a treatment plan that suits you as an individual. The approaches I use are Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT). I endevour to make treatment plans that are specific to you and encourage an explicit collaboration. This gives us the chance to test our compatability and there is no obligation to continue working together.
