Profile
At certain times in our lives it can feel as if we are stuck.
We can feel as if we have lost direction, and we might feel we have lost a sense of ourselves.
These times can be very confusing and uncomfortable.
Even though we may want to talk to our friends and family about how we're feeling, we feel it is not right to do so, we think they would not understand, or we may feel that we don't want to burden them.
There are times when it can feel too difficult to cope with life's issues.
Times when you know something needs to change in your life but unsure in which direction to take.
I believe that we hold our own solutions and answers but we may need a safe, quiet place to be able to discover them.
Individuals come to counselling for many different reasons.
Some examples are: bereavement & personal loss, anxiety, low self-esteem, change of life circumstances, retirement, stress, addictions, relationship difficulties and childhood trauma.
Some people come to counselling because they are feeling unfufilled in their lives and have a general feeling of being 'stuck.'
I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor.
I use the humanistic approach as I believe that every person has the capacity to reach their own potential when given the space and opportunity to explore and make sense of their situation, then being able to find their own answers.
I do use different types of therapy depending on the individual needs of the client.
I am fully accredited and a registered member of the National Counselling Society and adhere to the NCS ethical framework of good practice.
I currently work as a school counsellor, supporting children and their families in the Sussex area.
