Tara Payne PG Dip In Integrative Therapy & Counselling, MBACP
Seeking therapy can be a very difficult time. You may be feeling down and you just don't know why? or perhaps you're struggling with something you just can't seem to find a way out of ?....... Entrusting somebody with something that you don't fully understand may be an extremely challenging thing to do and the thought of needing support may make you feel different or as though your admitting defeat. The fact is......We all struggle at some point and exploring things within a safe space can often help us to make sense of things that are too difficult to face alone.
I am a warm, empathic, non judgemental Counsellor who is committed to helping people feel safe within this process. My work with people often locates a difficult relationship at the root of discomfort. This is the very reason that the relationship between myself and my clients is key and is often at the heart of reparation. Through the strength and trust ensued within; it may become possible to confront and explore issues that are otherwise far too overwhelming. Increased self awareness is a product borne out of this exploration and with this often comes a liberation to make different choices thus taking positive steps towards resolution. The counselling relationship can provide a model for managing those less healthy relationships within our world and supports the construction of self worth.
I am an integrative Counsellor experienced at working with most issues but have extensive experience in working with:
- Attachment issues
- Extreme trauma
- Clinical Mental Health diagnosis
I was driven towards my therapeutic work as result of my own life experiences, together with a life long interest in understanding people: their functioning and their pain. This journey enables me to approach my work with genuine empathy.
I believe that Counselling is a unique process shaped by the individuals involved. I am an Integrative Therapist which means my I can draw upon a training of diverse approaches. This enables me to flexibly attune to the work and adapt my approach to client need.

Therapeutically working with young people is a personal continuing interest.
