I am a fully accredited therapist with the BABCP. I work part time in the NHS and also have a private practice in Crowthorne, Berkshire. I offer private face to face sessions in the evening in a quiet and welcoming environment.
On making contact with me I will arrange a free 20 minute telephone consultation with you to discuss your difficulties, answer any questions you have and to ensure that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy will be an appropriate way forward for you. In our initial face to face sessions together we will explore your difficulties in more detail and agree a treatment plan together. I tend to work in a time-limited way (from 5-20 sessions) as I believe in empowering my clients with the tools and techniques to manage their own difficulties when this is possible. However, some clients may wish to receive CBT for longer than this.
It is not unusual in therapy to have some email correspondence between sessions and this is included in the price of the sessions. I have extensive experience working with the following problems: depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety and social anxiety. I will work from adolescents to older age adults
Training, qualifications & experience
I graduated in Occupational Therapy (BSc Hons) in 2000. I worked for the NHS and Social Services in a range of mental health settings until 2010 when I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Evidenced Based Psychological Treatment (CBT). I have since been employed in the NHS as a CBT therapist and commenced a small private practice.
