Further Information
What is Counselling
Counselling and psychotherapy is a talking therapy that is of great value in helping people who are in distress.
This is a confidential service where you can explore your thoughts and feelings in a supportive and private environment without fear of being judged.
Counselling provides an opportunity for clients to:
- Talk about their problems and current difficulties
- Seek support when they are distressed
- Find meaning in their lives and make changes when they are ready
- Find direction and purpose
Counselling is for anyone who finds they are in a difficult place in their life, and need someone to talk to who is outside of family and friends.
It is now recognised by the medical profession and by our own GPs that counselling and the talking therapies are of great benefit in alleviating issues e.g. stress, depression and anxiety brought on by life crises and difficulties.
Therapy takes place on a one to one basis. Short or long term counselling is available depending on the needs of the client.
