People seek counselling for many reasons. Sometimes a difficult life event can prompt the decision to make contact. At other times this will be linked to issues that have been around for a while, or to long-standing feelings of distress. Whatever your reasons, I offer the time and a space to talk through the things that are causing you pain or difficulty, looking with you at ways to understand your experiences and move forward. While recurring problems or patterns of thought can bring about a sense of feeling stuck, counselling can help to shift this, opening up new perspectives and the potential to change and grow.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, practicing in South Woodford and Highams Park. I have over ten years of experience working professionally as a therapist in the private sector and within the NHS. I see people from all walks of life, and from many age groups. Though I usually work face to face I am able to offer telephone counselling if this is necessary.
It can be hard to choose a therapist when faced with so many, in the end, your relationship with a therapist is an all-important factor. In an initial no-obligation meeting we can discuss what you are looking for in therapy. This is also a chance for you to decide whether you think you are going to feel comfortable working together and whether I am the right therapist for you. On the other hand, if you have questions or would like to know more before deciding to meet, give me a call on 07847 332 193, or email me. All communication will be treated as confidential.
