Suzanne Fisher Reg. MBACP
My name is Suzanne and I would like to welcome you on the start of your journey to self healing. Within the sessions, I will give my support in assisting you through times of change and different emotions that you may feel along the way. We are all individuals with many difficulties in our lives. I offer an open and confidential therapeutic space. This is your time, where you have the opportunity to explore any problems or issues that you may have at your own pace.
I am a very welcoming and caring person wishing to assist you on your journey. My approach to all clients is empathetic and non-judgemental allowing you to have space to talk. Although I appreciate the necessity for a professional approach, I have a humorous manner with a down to earth nature that can put you at ease within your sessions.
Previously, I have worked with many clients who have a range of concerns, from bereavement and loss, to depression and relationship problem. People seek support for various reasons; some are struggling with major change in their lives and others wish to become more self aware and achieve a better understanding of themselves.
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have a great range of experience spending many years in ‘Caring in the Community’ as well as twelve years experience working at The Priory Mental Health Hospital. My main areas of work at The Priory are rehabilitation and counselling along with clinical supervision training and facilitating. I have worked with a diverse range of clients with many difficulties both in hospital and GP surgeries.
As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling, and each month I spend time with a qualified supervisor who confidentially reviews my work as a counsellor. This will ensure the work is beneficial and effective for my clients.
I have the ability to bring in other skills that I have learnt over the years with creative therapy, mindfulness that is used in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) and meditation. These skills can assist in your process of self healing; it is your time and space to explore your problems and issues in a safe and tranquil setting.
