About me

I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor working in Chartridge, Buckinghamshire. Chartridge is conveniently located for Amersham, Chesham and surrounding areas.

I trained as an integrative psychotherapist…. Simply put, this means that I have the training to draw on a wide variety of theoretical approaches and acknowledge that each and every one of us are unique and bring with us our own set of needs, circumstances and experiences.
Working in collaboration I can help you understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and gain an understanding of yourself and your interpersonal relationships.

In a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental environment you can allow yourself space to be heard. Together we can explore aspects of your life that may be inhibiting your happiness and causing you distress and begin the journey to greater self- awareness and an improved emotional wellbeing.

I believe that one of the most important factors in productive psychotherapy is the relationship between client and therapist.
It is for this reason that I offer an initial 30 minute session free of charge.
I understand that the choice to come to counselling is not always an easy one and if this is your first experience of therapy you may be feeling apprehensive. This first session can help you to understand how therapy works and how best we can work together.
There is no obligation to continue after the initial session.

I work on both a long-term and short-term basis.

I work with both individuals and couples.

As well as running a private practice I have also worked within the NHS as a psychotherapist.

I adhere to the ethical frameworks of the BACP and UKCP.

I have experience working with:

  • Addiction.
  • Alcoholism.
  • Anxiety.
  • Bereavement and Loss.
  • Bi-Polar Disorder.
  • Childhood Sexual Abuse.
  • Couples and Families.
  • Depression.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
