Susan Owen PG Dip Counselling; PG Dip Supervisor. MBACP (Accredited).
Vale Of Glamorgan
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means that I use different therapeutic methods and approaches, depending on the needs of the individual and the issues that they bring. I integrate my counselling approaches appropriately and effectively, using mainly Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
I have experience working with a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, abuse, loss and bereavement, alcohol and substance misuse, trauma, work related issues and relationship problems. (see below for a more extensive list).
The relationship and trust between you and your counsellor is essential to the effectiveness of counselling as it will enable you to talk about, and identify what you are feeling and thinking. Within each therapeutic relationship, I create a safe and respectful environment in which we are able to work collaboratively, without judgement.
As your counsellor, I can help you to look at your problems from a different perspective, and provide you with the support to work through your difficulties, using the necessary strategies to achieve positive change.
I provide counselling for individuals, and as a fully qualified Supervisor, I also provide individual and group supervision.
