About me

Hello and I hope you find my profile of interest.  Choosing a good match in terms of therapist for you is an important part of the therapeutic journey.  I am a humanistic integrative counsellor, which means I work with the relationship "in the room" and also combine many theories to apply the most suitable technique to address issues.  My technique offers assistance with many aspects of life, including work, relationships, health, making decisions, painful experiences, addiction, social anxiety, intimacy and gender issues, and/or loss.

I follow the BACP ethical guidelines, and their codes of practice.  I treat all information with respect and as confidential at all times, and only in very specific instances (safeguarding), client information may have to be disclosed.  These circumstances are made very clear, agreed, and any disclosure would only happen with the client's prior knowledge.

I provide one-to-one individual counselling either via the phone, online, or face-to-face and in various locations.  Sessions are usually weekly, and 50 minutes in duration, with the exception of the first session, which can take longer in some instances.

I work online and in person with long and short term clients, depending on the case requirements.  Diary permitting, I offer "top up" sessions, post-treatment, after working together for a while.  This seems to work well to maintaining the work achieved.

If you wish to explore more, please feel free to book in an introductory call.

I look forward to hearing from you and, if you do choose a different practitioner, I wish you all the best and I hope you have found what you need.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
