43 St. Giles
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist. This means I can help you identify the gap between what you feel on the inside and what the world sees on the outside. We can work together to find ways for you to feel more fully yourself, and fully present in the world. I begin sessions with mindfulness breathing to help you quieten your mind. We can then explore what is within. Anxiety, depression, loss, grief, loss of identity or direction, whatever troubles you can be brought here. I have a Masters in Psychotherapy and 15 years experience with adults and adolescents. I work in central Oxford in the Quaker meeting house, in St Giles.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I have full BACP accreditation and 15 years clinical experience. I have worked for the last 10 years in America, 5 years in private practice, 2 for an Employee Assistance Programme, and 3 as a group psychotherapist for an inpatient and outpatient mental health unit. I have training in Mindfulness CBT and use Mindfulness at the beginning of every session to quieten the mind and deepen your experience. I work by identifying the gap between where you are and where you want to be, and then focusing in on your present and past experience that has brought you to that gap. Working at your pace, both short and long term depending on your needs, we will explore the pain in the gap and work to understand and change it.
