Taking the first step to counselling can be a daunting prospect so treating each client with compassion and care, especially in the early stages, is really important to me.
I am a qualified counsellor, Mental Health Therapist, ADHD Nurse and Registered Mental Health Nurse. I have worked in the NHS for over 35 years. I now have my own private practice & work as a Counsellor in a local High School.
I have unparalleled experience working with children, young people & adults. I have worked with McMillan Palliative & Bereavement Service & CRI with clients & families affected by Alcohol & Drugs.
My training & experience enables me to help clients work through their issues in a confidential & professional way.
I believe in the person centred ethos; that everybody, given the right environment, has the ability to grow. I offer clients a safe, non judgemental & confidential environment to explore their problems, allow them to make changes, heal old wounds, make peace with the past, & accept & embrace who they are.
I feel it is important to offer flexibility according to my clients needs. I work with a wide range of clients issues and I feel the most important aspect of successful therapy is the relationship between client and counsellor.
My private practice is based in the beautiful Cheshire countryside of Lymm. I have a light , peaceful ,air-conditioned room situated on the ground floor enabling you to feel relaxed and welcome. There is ample parking.
I am ideally situated for Warrington, Altrincham, Hale, Bowden and Cheshire. The practice is easily accessible for visitors from the Merseyside and Greater Manchester areas using the motorway network. It is served by Network Warrington bus services within 2 minutes walk.

What to expect in your first session
Finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is so important.
To give new clients peace of mind, I always use the first meeting as a chance for us to both find out whether we’ll work well together. Therefore our initial session of 30 minutes is completely free.
In this first session we will discuss your expectations from counselling and what, as a trained counsellor, I can help you with.
I will explain ethical issues with you such as contracting and ethical boundaries. We will also discuss practical issues such as the best times for and frequency of the sessions.
From there, you can make an informed decision with complete confidence as to whether to continue meeting with me.
Many people wonder how long counselling lasts. The truth is, it varies for every person. We’ll always work on the challenges and difficulties completely unique to you, and I’ll be on hand to support you for as long as that takes, whether that’s just a few weeks, or longer term. Ultimately, the choice to continue or end your counselling is yours at every step of the way.
